Multiplication of Decimal Fractions:
Multiply the given numbers considering them without decimal point. Now, in the product, the decimal point is marked off to obtain as many places of decimal as is the sum of the number of decimal places in the given numbers.

0.008 x 0.3 = ?

Answer : d) 0.0024

Solution :

Given expression is, 0.008 x 0.3
The multiplication value without decimal point = 8 x 3 = 24
Sum of the number of decimal places in the given numbers = 3 + 1 = 4
Now, in the product, the decimal point is marked off to obtain as many places of decimal.
Then the answer is 0.0024.

13.03 x 0.0001 = ?

a) 0.001303 b) 13.003 c) 0.01303 d) 1.303

Answer : a) 0.001303

Solution :

Given expression is, 13.03 x 0.0001
The multiplication value without decimal point = 1303 x 1 = 1303
